Gintarė Skerytė graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre as a pianist and a singer. The singer’s repertoire spans from early to contemporary music. She has appeared in all music festivals in Lithuania (Vilnius, St. Christopher, Gaida, Pažaislis). She has given recitals in Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Island and the USA. She is often heard performing with Lithuanian and foreign orchestras, choirs and chamber ensembles. She has appeared in leading roles in international productions of a number of baroque operas including Dido in H. Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Euridice in C. Monteverdi’s La favola d’Orfeo, Serpina in G.B. Pergolesi’s La serva padrona and Alcina in F. Caccini’s La liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina.

Among the performances she has given and international festivals she has appeared in are Luzern (Switzerland, 1993), Probaltica (Torun, Poland, 1995), Wroclaw (Poland, 1995), Warsaw Autumn (Poland, 1997), Music Festival (Germany, 1999), 5 concert tour in the USA (2001), recital in Bangkok (Thailand, 2002), music festivals in Finland and Estonia (2003), Kuressaare Opera Festival (Estonia, 2005), Salzburg Festival (Austria, 2006) and Music Festival in Lvov (the Ukraine, 2006).

1998 saw the production of the film on Gintarė Skerytė’s creative career.

Since 1992, the singer has taught the vocal at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and “Liepaitės” choral school.
